There is no right or wrong reason to approach psychoanalytical psychotherapy and the person does not have to be heading towards a crisis or in a crisis to see a psychotherapist.
People come to therapy for many different reasons and sometimes the reasons may not be clear. Sometimes it may be due to a troubling event, loss of a loved one, or reoccurring patterns of self-sabotage that cause despair. It could be feelings of isolation or heightened anxiety or sometimes problems coping with stress. Other reasons could be ongoing relationship problems or. confused feelings around identity.
The therapeutic work is provided in a safe, confidential, impartial, and non-judgemental space for sharing troubled and confused feelings. The work can be offered on a focussed short-term basis or for a longer, open-ended period.
